What is the ESNcard?
Forget about “american express gold” it’s the ESNcard, which gives you VIP status!
By getting this card you become an active member of our section (or any other section, depending where you get it). The ESNcard gives you the right to vote in every official election and you can influence the work and development of your section.
Do I need the ESNcard if I only stay for one semester or even shorter?
We are highly recommending it, because it’s valid for one entire year. Even if you go back to your home country before you can use the international discounts and explore the local discounts at home, if there is another ESN section. Getting the discount is not limited to the city where you got your card originally.
How much does the ESNcard cost?
The price is 180 SEK
Who can get an ESNcard?
The general ESNcard is not bound to specific requirements, you just need to have a student status and study or do an internship abroad.
Can I join ESN events without having an ESNcard?
Our events are generally open for everyone who enjoys an international environment.
But for all ticketed events we guarantee an discount for ESNcard holders. So it’s worth it to have it.
ESNcard registration
After buying your ESNcard at the office, you need to activate it online on esncard.org. After 1-2 days, you can use your card for all online discounts and local discounts. Just fill in the free fields on the card, add the most beautiful picture of you, and you can use it immediately.
ESNcard purchase
You can get the ESNcard at our office in Fabriksgatan 38. We do not sell the ESNcard at any of the events (except during the Welcome Weeks at Welcome Fairs). An online sale is not possible; you need to get the physical card in person.
To get an ESNcard, you need to download the Hitract app, create an account, search ESN Göteborg, and apply for membership. After that, you come to the office during opening hours, pay on the spot through your phone/card, and the ESNcard is yours!

Having an ESNcard is not only a membership in our section, but also comes with a variety of discounts at our local and international partners.
